your math is off, it's 21.12.

ummm...how did you get that?

2.28 x 2.28 = 5.1984 x 2.28 = 11.852352

I am very excited about this and plan on doing duals or triples this spring or summer. 2.28, 2.28, 4.7 and twin sticks with my 5.29's would be ridiculous. The control of the truck would be incredible. I don't think you can go too low. Do it! 2.28, 2.28 and 2.28 would be really cool too. Letting someone drive your truck that didn't know what was going on would be hilarious. It would be pretty cheap too. Just 2 adapter kits and 2 more reduction boxes. Definitely twin stick the last one.

from what i have seen dual ultimate is too low for most cases. that is why i am going dual stock. that and the fact that i have a taco with a chain driven case.

Another thing to think about is that triple cases would require two dual case adapters which would up the price another $350 +/- with that money you could've just gone with duals and 4.7's in the rear. Also, you'll want a 23 spline input shaft for sure in the rear. The Triples wouldn't give you much of a benefit anyways. Marlin is most likely geared 4.7's in two or more of the cases which would give him is almost 1300:1 crawl ratio or whatever it is. Honestly, if I were you I'd just go with two stock cases unless all your going to be doing is pure rockcrawling like the Hammers etc...double low 2.28x2.28 is pretty awesome in itself.

Oh, and Budbuilt and I think FROR make triple case crossmembers...

the ultimately crawler is good because you get 3 t-case options 2.28, 4.7 and 10. with stock duals you only get 2.28 and 5.2.

There is a point that it gets too easy, take all the fun and challenge out of wheeling.

better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Well yeah obviously you'll have more gearing options if you gear the rear case, I was just saying that stock duals are still more gearing than most people would need. And unless your running trails like the Hammers, parts of Fordyce, sluice box on the Rubicon, etc...you won't need the 10:1 gearing option with 4.7's. Plus, you barely even have to do anything when you're that low, it'd just be boring. As marlin showed with that video you barely have to drive.

Yeah I hear that. If it was easy then Jeep wouldn't have made the Rubicon, we'd be wheeling in Nissan trucks. I do like the ability to go where I want to when I want to but I LOVE facing a crazy climb and thinking "damn..... I don't know if I can do that" and then doing it with sweaty palms and a nervous right leg. The shakes you get after making a tough climb are the best thing ever.

[QUOTE=drew303;51347636]Dude my buddy rocks a old Nissan pickup SAS'd. Thing is a beast, he takes it everywhere and beyond and it just goes. It's more than once put our toyotas, 4.7'd SAS'd locked everything to shame. And its under geared at 5.13 with their under geard tranny/tcase combo but man it just owns.. Dana 44 front on 35's.. this only video i got of it.

I blame the toyota drivers.....
I mean it really doesn't matter what the make, just the line you take.
and the weight...
