Wow!

(Hope you're ready for some questions...)

The box up front.....what's that for?
How are you going to set up the shifter? Are you going to shift in reverse order? 1st and 2nd to the rear.....3rd and 4th to the front? And, the transfer case shifting?
Why a rear mounted engine? Traction, I guess?
How is it going to stay cool enough with the radiator in the rear? Why not set it up front with some extended hard plumbing and electric fan?
How long has this project been in the works? (That's alot of fabricating!)

And, I think you're going to need bigger tires.....hehehe

go for it.right the alloy box mounted up front is the fuel tank.the shifter will be as you said just gonna take a bit of getting use to.as you said rear mounted engine for traction, the plan is to build a cowling over the rear of the truck.with air ducts to cool the rad, plus some big electric fans too.this project was started in november last year.as for the tyres well lets wait and see.it was intitially constructed for off road racing.

Thanks, vatchman.

I'm guessing, also, this will be a full-time 4x4. Otherwise, you'd have a part time FWD, eh?

Oh, are you going have power steering?

Right.....lol...I hadn't though of that. A vehicle for a variety of terrains and conditions!....

The power steering....I was just wondering if would take a monstrous pump to move the fluid that far.....and, if you were going with long, soft hoses and/or some piping, as well.

its gonna use the original cruiser steering pump with a variety of hard pipe through the chassis and flexy hoses on the steering rack itself.should be ok,fingers crossed or else

Yeah, I guess you just won't really know until it's all up and running. Deal with it then, if you have to...right?

Thanks for answering the questions. This is one of the most unique rigs I've seen. Can't wait to see more as it progresses. You will update, no?

That is the craziest thing I have ever seen. I thought I was nuts for putting a VW engine in a Toy, but to run everything backwards..........your crazy! Very nice job though. That will be cool when its done.

awesome build. the COG should be great. Curious about a few things:
a) purpose of truck--intended use?
b) why the square box tubing upfront? why not use round like you did for rear?
c) tire size? this thing is begging for some 39" Iroks...
d) stupid question but do you have 5 forwards speeds? I remember when I put a VW bus gear reductions on a high school project and wondered why I had 4 reverses--forgot to flop the ring gear in the transaxle..

am adding this to my subscriptions, I want to follow this thing just for the cool factor...

ive turned the axles upside down so it will have 5 forward speeds and 1 reverse.

Vatchman - you OBVIOUSLY have WAY too much time on your hands!!!

j/k!

Seriously, your 2 trucks show some mad fabbing skills, and seems well sorted out for what you seem to intend for them - Congrats!!
