I'm grasping at straws here in hopes that a tranny pull could be avoided. Here's what's happening and what I've done so far. The last time she shifted well was on the way back from McCaslin Mt. No problems on the trail whatsoever. My rig sat for about 2 weeks and when I went to move it there was a brief lag before reverse engaged, the same lag when going into drive. All seemed well until coming to an easy stop from 25 mph. While stopped the truck suddenly lurched forward, but shifted well the rest of the day through heavy start and stop traffic. I first chaulked it up to sitting for a while and began driving it daily, same thing each time (lag - engage - lag - engage - lurch - normal). I've checked the fluid level (also still nice and red no burnt smell),drained and checked the screen (no flush yet), replaced the 2 tranny sensors I could find (are there more?), checked the cable and even pulled the codes (none presently). Sorry for the long thread, but any ideas or is my slush box toast?!

Thanks for the FSM link, sad part is it confirms what I was afraid of. She may be sitting a while (funds and time). Anyone got a loaner 4Runner? Seems like I'll be driving the wifes Heep. Oh the cruel humanity!

Thinking valve body, shift plates basicaly rebuild/replace time. If I had the cash on hand and time to do it myself a local yard has a good deal on a manual T, shifters, linkage, console, pedals. bellhousing, flywheel,clutch assist and all required parts minus a new clutch and bearing for $900.00. As for now I'm tapped out on funds which s---s that much more.
