Transmission Problems

Ok well yesterday when I was driving home I noticed my truck was spraying transmission fluid pretty good. It’s a 95 4runner 3.0 Automatic tranny. I pulled over and looked at it. The hose that was spraying the fluid was broken, almost falling off. I fixed the hose to where it wasn’t leaking. I lost a lot of fluid, I’m not sure how much but A LOT. So I put about 6 quarts of transmission fluid in but I don’t know if that’s enough. And I took the hose off to see if fluid had flowed through it but none had gone through. After that when I tried to put it gear it didn’t pull. Like when I put it in “D” it wouldn’t move, I gave it some gas but it just revved up. It did the same in every other gear.
It may seem like I don’t know much because honestly I don’t. Haha. I am only sixteen and I have tried to explain the problem the best I could. Any help is appreciated.

Which hose was broken, the coolant lines to the radiator?

even if the trans was toast, one would think the pump would be circulating fluid.
