Transmission oil cooler.
Ok I have started removing things to pull my 3.slo. Maybe I'll post some pics of the rebuild here if everyone hasn't seen enough like that here already.
I noticed that the trans cools through the radiator.
So when you guys add trans coolers I'm assuming they are installed "inline" with the radiator cooler for maximum cooling?
Thanks

Most like to put it after the radiator cooler because the radiator cooler only cools down to the temp of the coolant in the radiator at the most. It will help also to put in a cooler thermostat.
Taurus auto trannys are notorious for going out at about 70-80,000 miles and I noticed last year that they run a 198 deg t-stat and except for the SHO models don't have an extra cooler. My Taurus now has a 180 deg t-stat and a extra cooler added after the radiator cooler, oh and Mobil1 ATF.
