Transmission mount smoked? and questions..

Hey all. I have been working on tracking down a vibration at 47-52mph. At the speed it wobbles pretty good and I notice that the trans and the tcase shifters are shaking pretty good at this speed. It feels like its from the rear. I have access to spare parts and put in a different drive line and swapped out an axle shaft that had a slight wobble to it. This made no difference.
I got under the truck and jacked the tranny up. I noticed the mount stretched a bit and then I took these pictures. Needs to be replaced right? Any recommendations? What else should i check for the vibration? Its not the tires or wheels(both new, no change). Can a bad trans mount cause this vibration on its own?

Yeah, the tell tale sign for me was my trans and t-case shifters moving tons when I pressed on the gas, as well as shaking more than normal like your case.. Put in an OEM mount and it's back to normal.

There is an aftermarket mount too, but I think it only works on the 4 cylinder which is why I had to get the OEM mount for my v6.

Check your u-joints, and the shaft nut under it. Mine had bad u-joints, broken mount, and the nut came loose from all the vibration.

I put in a spare drive shaft to rule this and an unbalance issue out. There was no change. My new mount comes in tomorrow.

Yeah it was the wrong one. There computer list it incorrectly because they showed me. The one listed for an 87 looked closer and was listed at 106 but for sale for 71...but the couldn't get it. Back to the drawing board.

Is the mount different for autos? Doesnt the mount still attach to the transfer case? That would make it the same right? I ask this because I am not familiar for with the autos. Here is a link to a few mounts

ok so the solid mount is in and i took it for a test drive around the block and soon as i started it up i noticed the vibes.i can noticably feel alot of the motor vibes.seems like alot more power to the wheels too? i see now why there is rubber spacers betwen the mounts but its not that bad once your driving.but the thunk when i put it into gear is gone.
sorry if im hijacking your thread but i hope im helping with the issue by letting you know what i went trough to get the trans mount issue corrected.

Not sure if they are different. Based on this thread I am inclined to think they are

I'll call Trail Gear on Monday morning & find out for sure. Thanks for the link.
