Transmission leak and shifting problem

I got a 94 runner 3.0 auto. Everyday city driving is fine. My problem is when I start going up the mountain hills my transmission doesn't down shift. (after a few miles of uphill climbing at 40-55 mph) Pedal on the floor it will not down shift unless I manually do it. I pulled over to see tranny fluid on the passenger side frame under the a/c drain pipe. Can't figure out why and where the fluid is leaking out from. The shift solenoids 1&2 have been changed and I had a tranny service recently. My temp light does not turn on although I'm not sure it works. Any ideas ???
