Transmission Fluid Change

hey Guys, I've got a Question! I'm flushing all the fluid outta my transmission and Transfer Case. I drained all the Transmission Fluid and Gear Oil, Pulled the tranny Pan down and cleaned it all out! How many Quarts of Tranny Fluid do i need? Im hearing 8 but i'm also reading if its completly empty it takes 10.9 Quarts? Also does the transfer case have a Filter as well?

It depends on which transmission you have.

Taking a guess he has an auto, since he asked if the t-case has a filter also.

Cases of 12 quarts of Dextron III can be bought on Amazon for less that $40.

It will be the lower amount for a drain and refill. The higher number is after a rebuild when there isn't any left in the trans. To my knowledge there is not a filter in the transfer case like in the transmission.

Sigh ....
Well, that narrows it down to four different automatic transmissions used on pickups/4runners. The "drain and refill" capacities are between 1.6 and 4.8 US Quarts. (I have no idea where you are "reading", but the higher number is for a completely empty transmission, which you cannot do just by removing the pan.)
