Manual gear boxes dont have trans dipsticks. You can check the fluid under the truck in the trans fill hole.

Probably a R150. The synchros in those don't like GL-5 fluid, stick to a GL-4 type. Like MMA_Alex said Redline MT-90 works well.

I've yet to find GL-4 gear oil, anywhere...

They say meets GL-5 or meets and exceeds GL-4, GL-5 blah blah

or they say GL3 GL4 GL5 and nothing else

can anyone explain wtf is the difference between all the GL's or is this just a SAE quality rating? whats the deal?

my G54 loves this mobil 1 75w-90 tho

gl-5 is a high pressure gear oil which has additives that tend to eat away at brass. i believe the syncros in these transmissions are made of brass.

Some of it also depends on how much of the old oil you can out. Drive it around and get the trans. hot before you drain it. More will come out. And make sure you can get the fill plug off before you drain it.
