Transfer Forward shifter to Top Shifter

I have purchased a transfercase RF1A off ebay and finally got it to find its a front shift on it and the top is caped off.
Is it easy/ possible to use my shifter from the other case in my car (leaking like a sieve) to change without dismantling the whole thing?

cheers

Its been a year or 3 since I put dual cases in my truck and messed around with them but I know its possible to switch them out. I think U have to change the shift fork inside and one or both shift rods. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please. Its realy easy to do and I think Marlincrawler has a detailed tech writeup on ripping apart and reassembling t-cases for the dual case setup. Useful info that will be more than enough to help u get the job done.

You are going to have to convert it over as the shift rails/forks are different. You can use your old tcase stuff to convert it.

... as in my girlfriend and her lifted XJ (to fit the same 31x10.5r15s I fit from the factory mind you) sitting dead in my driveway with a leaking rear main seal and funked charging system...
