transfer case wiring?

Does anyone know what the two wire plug on the drivers side of the t-case is called? i have a 94 3.0 Auto with ADD..my 4wd quit enganging the other day and i tracked it down to this plug on the t-case... a limb had caught it and broke it......i had just enough to splice it back temporary but i am going to have to replace it...it is a two wire plug that goes into the t-case and is evedently the wiring that tells the relay to switch the activate the 4wd....any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

There shouldn't be anything on the transfer case itself that electronically tells the truck to go into 4wd as its mechanical with shifter linkage, if anything its probably the plug to illuminate the dash that your in 4 wheel drive... your problem is most likely in the front with the ADD system, check the plug on the front of the diff and check the vaccum lines going from the shift fork to the VSV system on the passenger side fender well.

If you have access to a parts truck I would pull the ADD system off and put manual Aisin hubs on the truck as well and save yourself the trouble

your trannsmission and transfer case are probably the A340H , this transfer case set up has a valve body in it along with solenoids , I am unsure exactly how it all works but you do have electroinics coming out of the transfercase a they are solenoids .

no that's not my problem...4wd worked fine sunday because i cut some wood and had to use it...but i must have caught a limb on my way out that broke that two wire plug on the t-case and on tuesday when we got 5 inches of snow i had no 4wd..i had no 4wd until just a few minutes ago when i found the wires broken and spliced them back together and then everything worked fine...before splicing them back the relay under the dash was not clicking nor the 4wd light indacator coming on and no 4wd....so it has to have something to do with it....thanks for your response though

Are you guys positive on that? I ask because mine has been broken for some time, that same exact plug and my front axle, locker and everything work just fine, I dont have the ADD system though, I eliminated it all together

yeah....if you have disabled the add system then you won't have this problem i guess.....i had to trick mine the other day to get it in 4wd for the snow...it took me a while but i finally got it in 4wd but it was full-time is switched the hoses on the passenger side fender and then took the relay out and it stayed engaged.

Hm, I really had no idea that had anything to do with the ADD system, I guess that explains why my light doesn't illuminate anymore, but then again it hasn't for some years now and that was after I eliminated the ADD stuff
