Tranny/tcase seperation

If I don't drain the fluid from the tranny/tcase, will it all leak if I seperate the 2? I am pulling them this weekend and am doing it from the tcase forward so I need to know if once I pull the tcase it won't shower me in gear oil.

i'm pretty sure you need to drain them both...

Yeah, that's what I thought but figured I would double check it before hand.
