Did you end up cutting up those headers? If they are still good I'm interested in a set, I just picked up a 3.0L Pickup and wanted to do the exhaust right away. PM me back if you are interested in possibly selling them.

Are you sure that you want to stand by that statement?

And yea he is correct. Did the motor mounts on my dad F150 and before we did them the shifter would push over to the left or right depending if you were in forward or reverse. Motor is connected to the tranny which is connected to the drive-shaft which will spin either left or right putting torque on the tranny and motor.

making headers fit on 2wd

Hey Superchiem... I was wondering if you think those headers would have fit if they were 2" higher?

I have a 2wd 4runner and want to get some headers! But, I would have same issue as you.... So, I was thinking about doing a 3" body lift and a 2" drive train lift (Roger Brown's)... That would raise the exhaust up 2" from the frame and suspension and still leave an inch on top between the firewall/floor....

Thoughts anyone?

Does the drive train lift.. lift the motor? If not I don't think it would work. You have to clear the torsion bars.

Yes, drive train lift would lift engine and tranny up from frame... It's basically 2" spacer on motor mounts

I'm hoping that 2" would be enough

It looks like the first pic of the header in the engine bay, u can see the torsion bar connects to the upper contro arm..... But the second pic (a few posts down) look like the bar connects at lower control arm.... What's up with all that?

Is that two different trucks? The first one 4x4 and other 4x2?

You can see the control arm bolts at the bottom of the first picture. Its not connected to a torsion bar. Pictures are from the same truck. The torsions are connected to the bottom control arm.

Yeah, I got it all figured out now.... I also have a 2wd but my torsion bars connect at upper control arm.
In spite of not actually being a 4x4, I'm still on a 4x4 frame and suspension..... So I actually should be able to fit headers without any body or drivetrain mode! (still a little bit jealous of your 5vz swap though )
