just chiming in that i got my new OME t-bars from strap22 and i love them. i think the originals were "tired" and felt kinda awkward compared to/paired with the downey HD coils in the back.

mine are cranked 15" rim to fender and it doesn't feel overly stiff IMO. really handles well.

Excellent!!! Glad they worked out for you so well. I knew you you would be. Everyone who has changed to them has replied they are very happy with the lift and ride they get with them. Thanks for the post.

My stock bars have been cranked for nearly 7 years now. I remember the ride before, and it was indeed smoother, but my truck still rides pretty well and handles well. The alignment is great and it wears tires evenly.

I have been considering cranking my torsion bars back to the factory position and installing ball joint spacers, or just leaving it stock. I'll be saving up for a good suspension lift and new gears over the next few years, so between now and then, I'll mainly be making interstate and highway trips.

What would be the best way to measure to get the bars back to the stock position? I can't remember how many times I turned the bolt when I raised them.

the best way is the same measurement that they make for ride height when they do an alignment. It is from the ground to the center of the cam bolt. You can get this figure from the dealer. It is slightly different for each differing series on VIN numbers depending on the year/options, etc. I have the sheet still( I think) I will look for it but I am away for the week-end so send me a PM.

So is the ride quality with the OME 23.4's slightly stiffer than the 22.8 OEM's? Or is it about the same roughly (with the same "crank" for comparions) ?? I'm glad to hear there is a similar to stock aftermarket replacement size. I always thought they only made 25 and 26 MM Aftermarket bars.

They ride great......better than stock in my opinion. I have tried the SW 26mm and they ride like crap. These work very well and I have an ARB bumper and Warn M8000. Even without the added weight they made a big difference.

maybe slightly stiffer, but not much IMO. it rides better, i think. i too always thought 25mm & 26mm were the only options, and was pleased to find the OME solution.

I just bought a 87 runner, will those ball joint spacers fit? Can I combine the spacers with the torsion bars? That would be a real cheap solution until I unleash the monster:
