Toyminator, when you say bigger do you mean longer?
or bigger circumfrence.

If you mean circumfrence, then my theory says that if you swap out a pair of the v6 for the 4banger t-bars, that they would be a bit stronger..
Would this be possible, and am i thinking in the right direction?

get some 26 mm downey bars...then you can crank em up without worry

http://www.downeyoff-road.com/Suspen...s/1986-95.html

I ran these bars for many years and they worked great...less preload than a cranked stock t-bar

Heres my 2 cents. Do both at the same time your alignment/ride quality will thank you. also order new bolts from the toy dealer most likely they will snap on you. and why you have it apart do the bushings.

Since Downey list one part # for all 86-95 IFS trucks... I'll bet the 4 cyl and V6 trucks both share the same bars.

I'm running the Downey bars too, but I have a winch bumper and winch and 33" tires.

Hey Dirtoyboy, I'd like to get that CV from you we had a chat about last week. PM me please.

Yeah they tend to do that, even though Downey says they don't. Adjustment is more critical for sure. Where are you located?

The 25mm bars on my 2wd stiffened the front up about 50% and it rides quite a bit firmer (almost too stiff for the street) than the stock bars and the tires went up from 195/75r15's to 235/75r15's- approximately 26.5" to 28.75" so just over 2" taller. So I'd imagine a larger bar would be comparable on the heavier 4wd.

I didnt think they were all that stiff.....not near as stiff as a stock bar cranked to the same height....

I have 26MM i got from performance products took a while 2 set them where i like them. I got the truck level and left them there, and yes it's a harder ride. But i have plans for a deer killer bumper.

I might just add that a harder ride does have some nice handling effects in the corners.

I have a set of used stock bars I'll sell.

here's my question about the 26mm bars...

how's the flex with them cranked; with and without the swaybar removed?

sorry to hijack the thread

This pic is with Downey 26mm bars, sway bar discoed.

Worrying about flex with a sway bar connected is a little like a 300 lb woman worried about the weight of her bicycle seat.
