Tire Pressure Question

I am running 36x12.5 super swamper tires. What is the optimum psi for maximum ON ROAD performance? Thank you.

chalk test!

because it depends on your average load. lots of tools/gear? frequent full passenger load? get a piece of chalk, draw lines across the treads, drive a bit, and see how your line wears.

it's usually easier to over inflate, then watch as you air down and the line gets scrubbed off more evenly across the tread. dig?

Maximum (not recommended) pressure is usually on the sidewall

it also depends if they are bias or radial tires.

Should be there, it is required by DOT, but the Interco web site lists it as well:

Some tips on selecting tire pressures below:

I used to run my old Swampers at 30-35psi on long road trips (keeps the side lugs off the road) and then air down to 5-10psi off-road.
