chalk test!
because it depends on your average load. lots of tools/gear? frequent full passenger load? get a piece of chalk, draw lines across the treads, drive a bit, and see how your line wears.
it's usually easier to over inflate, then watch as you air down and the line gets scrubbed off more evenly across the tread. dig?

your a smart man I will try this. I almost never carry lots of tools and equipment, only holds me and one other person. Does anyone know the max psi for 36 super swampers?

I used to run my old Swampers at 30-35psi on long road trips (keeps the side lugs off the road) and then air down to 5-10psi off-road.
