tips for leaveing truck parked for a month

ok i am going to be flying home for the christmas break, so my truck will be parked in the front parking lot of my fraternity for about a month. i have already asked the police to do checks on it. and i plan on claneing it out of everything, subs, tools, faceplate, gps ect. i also plan on pulling the distributer wire. and of couse setting my alarm. is there anyhting else i should do? i am looking for both maintance (ie gas stablizers) but more importantly anti-theft. i know if someone REALLY wants it, they will find a way to get it, but i am at least trying to slow them down. i am in Stockton CA after all, the armpit of america and highest crime rate in the state of CA.

Put it up on blocks and make it look like the wheels have already been snaked?

Seriously, other than investing in a wheel-lock or something, I think you've pretty much covered it...

yeah thats what i figured, but i wasnt sure if there was any quick tips people had. i have thought about pulling one the wheels and putting it on jack stands, but i dont know if that would just bring more attention to it.

The thing about wheel-locks, is that they definitely make it hard to steal, but they're tough (and expensive) to come by... Do you know anyone who's staying for break? Maybe they could park behind it @ night... just an idea...

Yeah, that's lame...they kick you out, but they let you park your vehicles out in front? Wierd. One other idea, do you know anyone who lives locally that may let you park in their yard or driveway? I did that once when I was in school...

If you have extra money, you can put it in a storage unit.

I can't believe no one has mentioned locking the doors!

Disconnect a lead to the starter.

Take the battery with you? Empty the gas?

Unplug the starter from the fuse box (most people dont know how to reattatch it)?

If you lock it, chain it, disable it and alarm it, it will be an empty shell when you return. You're better off if they steal the whole thing.

If you leave the windows open, the doors unlocked and keys in it, no one will touch it.

Seriously, thieves will know everyone is away at that time. I wouldn't leave it there. Best to ask a buddy if you can leave it at his place. Heck, park it in a no parking zone and let it spend the month in the police impound. At least it's safe there...
