Timing guide broke sortof? Driver side.
Well I checked my timing guides today and they are good but there is bolt holes and the top hole is cracked off? The guide is loose, but there are in excellent shape. I have a new guide I can put on there but if you think it's alright just to leave it alone?
If I replace these guides is it worth it to replace both and the tensioner?
Thanks

the guide broke because the chain is losing tension and will need to be replaced in the near future. it could just be the tensioner but to rip it all apart and guess wrong just isn't worth it. replace everything and be done with it.

x2 on replacing everything. A broken driver's side guide can lead to the chain chewing away at the timing cover wall, which separates the timing chain compartment from the #2 water pipe. If it cuts through, you'll have oil and water mixing. I would suggest replacing the tensioner, chain, oil pump, water pump and replacing both guides. Use a driver's side guide made of steel instead of plastic. I highly recommend using engnbldr parts. Ted, the owner is well known on this site and I've personally bought 3 front end kits from him in the last 2 years without any problems.
