timing belt replacement
hey guys awsome fourm hey i have a question i have a 91 pu with a 3.0 v6 and im gona be replaceing the the timming belt and tentioners and idler pully do you half to take off the plynem to do the top idler pully or is there an easyer way of doing it i was told on a nother fourm that i did but i dont think i will need to can you guys shead some light on this for me please and about how hard is it to replace im sure its not that hard for this motor sence its in teh front not the side. thanks

No you don't have to remove it. There's two bolts on the back side of the idler pulley that fasten it to the manifold. I've been able to squeeze back there with a wobbly extension and socket. You just have to flex the steel lines a bit to get in there to them.

snap on 12 mm 3/8 drive 12 point wobble socket is your friend, a regular socket on a wobble adapter is a pain, but can be done, you will probably say a few choice words in the process, I bought the snap on socket only for this job and havent used it since, man I dont miss the 3.slow at all.
