Timing after Tps adjustment? Dashpot? Code 11? Rich and lean at same time?

22re 4wd standard transmission Do you have to set the timing after tps adjustment. Specifically do you have to reset timing if you set the timing when the tps was out of wack. Also when I adjusted my tps I noticed my 88 does not have a dashpot. I've read the autos never came with one but mine is stick. Before I adjusted the tps the the truck never hesitated when I let off the pedal, now it does. I've read they do with no dashpot but mine never did before. Is there anyway to adjust to stop screw to fix this problem. If it still runs rich after tps adjustment what would be the next step to figure why this thing is running rich. I adjusted the tps after I pulled out the ol paperclip and got a code 11. It runs pretty smooth no powerless at take off but a bit of a dog around 50ishph but puts randomly at idle. And pings right before I shift. I use the pinging as a shift point as I have no tach. Is it possible it's running rich at certain rpms and lean at a higher rpm?

Why your dash Pot is gone could have a few reasons.

All the Dash Pot does is keep the Throttle plate from slamming closed when you lift your right foot from the pedal.

You could try and adjust things but all you would really does is increase the idle and keep the throttle plate from closing all the way.

A guess maybe and idle of 2000 rpm.

Just why did you feel the need to adjust your throttle position Sensor ??The only time I have ever done so was when it was removed from the throttle Body or installing a New one Contacts close at idle at the second set Close at Full throttle the ECU sees when they are open and adjusts things as needed

Feeler gauge and Multi meter if it was really off might be time for new?

What have you done to trouble Shoot your problems

A help 11 is loss of Power to the ECU for 1988 and Up Toyota`s
If your running rich what do your spark plugs look like?? Last Good Tune Up Air Filter and Fuel Filter.??

What is your timing set at?? Pinging is either a Timing Problem or having to High Compression .

I do not know what my timing is set at I do not have a timing light.

I felt the need to test it because of the code. When I looked up the code tps was 3rd on the list. I tested it while it was on the truck and it was out of spec. I was able to adjust to to spec when I had the throttle body off the truck with feeler gauge and multimeter using the 4crawler write up. I cleaned the throttle body as well.

Truck idled better afterwords but pinging is still there.

How would I test for loss of power to the ecu? I have a multimeter.

Air filter is new. As well as plugs wires and cap. I did plugs a month ago and they were black but I pulled them back out a week ago and they weren't bad.

I haven't done anything to troubleshoot other than the throttle body and tps.

Could a timing issue cause it to run rich? It doesn't seem like it is out of time running it.

There’s a awesome way to set the tps with a timing light that brings much more satisfying results than using a multimeter. If you get a light lmk and I’ll send you the instructions. It’s pretty simple and straight forward

is that a one-digit code or a two-digit code? https://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTr...es/index.shtml

i wonder if the power to ecu loss code is for a temporary power blip of some sort.
