Time for a new engine.

Ok, i have a 92 toyota 4x4 pickup. its a v6 3.0 and its ready to die.
I was gonna get another 3.0 but everyone says its not a good engine for HP anyways, alot of people like the 22re but i feel that a 4 banger just isnt enough power for me. a 3.4L seems not not be worth the gas, and doesnt even have much of a gain in HP stock anyways.

i want a good reliable engine that i get alot of HP gain in, any sugestions?

Dude, where did you get the idea that the 3.4 isn't much of a gain over a 3.0?

Trust me, and I speak from experience since my swap last August and 24000 miles on it, there is a huge difference between the 3.4 and 3.0. Hills I used to go up in 3rd gear, barely able to keep with traffic, I know go up in 5th without drama.

And the fuel economy is better than the 3.0. I'm getting close to 300 miles per tank, with 33" tires, which works out to about 24 mpg. The 3.0, with 31"s, barely made 250.

If you can do the work yourself and have the time, you can't beat it. Or buy a small car. That's the only way you're going to get great fuel economy.

Yes. The 3.4 and 3.0 share the same block casting. You need to swap oil pans, dipsticks, and oil pickups. Exhaust needs a bit of re-routing and some other minor stuff needs doing, but it will be a lot less than any other engine swap.

If you're curious, hit the 3.4 swap section on here. There are a bunch of us who have done them.

Also, one of the better sites is this one: http://www.andrewzook.com/content/view/22/37

I think he must have tiny johnson syndrome. When things didn't go his way, he started crying like a wittle baby
