Throttle Position Sensor

Found this on eBay. The price is roughly $100 less than places like LC Engineering
and Yota shop are selling them for. Anyone tried these and are the ligit?

I wouldn't buy a TPS on ebay. To many counterfeit parts out there. That is about the most important sensor on the engine.

That's what l'm thinking. Specially for that price.
Problem l am having is l set up my current TPS after taking the TB off and cleaning. All the readings were within spec. And the IDL is working properly. Then l checked all the values from the ECM end of the plug. All readings check OK. Plugged it toget her and backprobed and the is no reading when checking pin 1 and pin 3. So pretty sure it's a bad TPS. But not 100% sure, so plunking down $150 bucks could hurt.

Here it is for $91. (Assuming correct part#) https://toyotaparts.ourismantoyotaof...IFJlc3VsdHM%3D
Toyotapartsdeal has it for $96, dont know who comes out ahead with shipping. Both reliable toyota dealers.

My thought is, buy from a reliable source and you will know what you have is authentic and works. You will never need another one. Good luck

I was ready to buy but thought l'd back probe again just to confirm. This time l noticed one pin touching the intake. I isolated it and got readings this time. With throttle closed it was .51 vdc and open was 3.81. Those numbers seem a bit low.
my problem is when l go to set timing the timing mark on the pully is jumping between 10 and 15 degrees when the engine is hot. Oddly when its cold and running at 1100 rpm the timing mark is steady.
also when l jumper the diagnostic port it has no effect on RPM or the timing mark. The truck runs great with no drivability issues. Only noticed it when l did a tune up and went to set timing.
Kind of lost right now and wondering if its the ECM or an issue with the diagnostic port.

I’ve posted numerous times how to set a TPS using a timing light. I highly encourage you to try it. Infinitely better, I promise you.

1100 RPM is too high for the ECU to revert to base timing/
Idle RPM must be around 800 before jumpering and setting timing.

yes, l did that, and it works on the 3.0. My problem is l can't set the base timing because the timing mark is jumping between 10 and 15 degrees. This is one of the symptoms of a bad TPS. One of the other symptoms is no change in idle with or witout the jumper on diagnostic port, and l have that too.
l ordered a new TPS from Young Toyota in Logan UT, $104 delivered. Yota Shop wants $136 + $22 for shipping.

I never go to Yotashop, 22RE Performance or LCE for regular Toyota oem parts. They have to go through a dealer (like you) and then mark it up to make it worthwhile.
