Which third memebers can i use?

I am just wondering and yes i searched alot but just to verify, i have a 93 4 cyl 4x4 and i am gathering the parts up for my sas. I am going to find another third member to go ahead and regear to put in my rear when i do the swap. Which third memebers can i use, v-6, turbo? are there any that wont fit my axle from 79-95? i have seen a bunch for sale in the marketplace but i just want to make sure before i by one. I just wasnt sure if v-6 and 4cyl thirds were interchangable in my housing.

Thanks, Josh

Any pre-'95 8" diff will work- be it from a 4cyl or v6, obviously as long as they both are of the same ratio. All will bolt into the axle housing. Some people need a different pinion flange as the bolt pattern on some 4.88?? diffs is different.

What Matt said and you might want to get the 3rd from a v-6 vehicle as it is stronger

It is VERY unlikely you'll blow a 4 cyl diff if the pre-loads (carrier and pinion) are to spec. Saw a blown 4.88 today, and there was NO preload and TOO MUCH backlash. No wonder it blew.
