Jon, glad the boltup worked out for you. It sounds like our experiences aren't the norm. Though that is odd that your non-CV shaft doesn't fit what looks to be the rule here, but at the same time, there always seem to be exceptions to the Toyota norm. Or, maybe there is yet something else we don't know about...

I give up
Marlin never says that, and neither did you before this edit to your post. But no one posting here will miss it.

i would like to bring this one back from the dead to ask a quick question:
I have an 88 runner with a 22re, 5 spd, and 4.10's, and it has a cv rear shaft. i bought a 4 cyl third, and the flange on the third did not mate up to the yoke on my shaft. The 4 bolts were bigger on mine than fit through the third, and the centering lip on my yoke was straight, while the flange on the third was beveled. so, if i understand this correctly, if I got a third from a v6, it should have the correct flange size?
thanks for any help/info

I'm pretty sure that flange will work, if not marlin will have what you need.

On another note, only 86-95 IFS fronts are interchangeable? I'm looking to get both axles w/e-locker out of a '99 4Runner. Will the gears work?
