Rust? What? Pass on the sellers info and how much he wants for it.

Lol .......he wants one thousand for it ass. Just kiddin man. Nah I was just a little hesitant because the inside of my third is significantly cleaner due to being properly lubricated. It looks like it has some oxidation on it due to being stored in a garage.......Is this nothing to worry about? Thanks guys.

I personally wouldn't worry too much about it; just looks like surface discoloration, it's not like there's chuncks of rotting metal falling off of it. So long as the suface of the teeth on the gears look fine (NO DISCOLORATION), I don't see what the problem would be.

How much is the man asking for it? Looks bone dry; in my book, that takes 30% off right there

Looks like a perfectly useable third to me. That is surface rust - probably could be wiped off with a rag.

The rust on the towers doesn't matter at all. Any pitting on the teeth caused by rust and i'd forget about putting it in my truck. The only places rust matters on the third are the gear teeth and the bearing surfaces- that should be obvious.

Just kidding, I can't see any issues with it.

^^^WTF.... Oh, and if anyone was wondering these have 4.88 gears that's why I am buying. I think I got a reasonably cheap front third lined up as well. Anyway, thanks for the advice guys. I'll probably post when I get it and install it.
