awesome idea. Hadn't thought of using laundry soap. I'd read about using a half cup of automatic dishwasher soap and thats supposed to work pretty well. I may give that a try.

Ok, Feelas... I am new to this form because of this very problem. I used to be a jeeper but smartened up 3 years ago and sold it for a yota.(insert clever remarks here)LOL.

My problem is similar but not. Mabey I should be on a different thread, but you guys have clearly been around the "block" more than once. It may also be pertinent to Shawn's issue.

So, Brown milkshake in the coolant overflow, Tranny slipage, Tranny fluid low and similar to milkshake, But the engine oil is clean.

I figure it is the tranny line through the rad and not the head gasket. What I cant figure is; the coolant is under psi, tranny is vented. how would the ATF empty into the rad? another unfortunate thing that i just realized is because of low $$ and just moving, the rig has been sitting next to my toolbox 30 mi away for over a week!

How screwed am I? I will go and drain everything immediatley. Hoping the fact that it all went into ther rad and didnt drain back might save the trans?

Any advice would be great, Thanx.

SORRY! found the info related to my nightmare. Good Luck with the head gasket.

So I chickened out and got the expensive 2 part epoxy head gasket fixer that you put in the radiator. Thought Id give that a try first and actually it seems to have worked. I did this several months ago and no more problems. The heater even still works!
Hackuba, yours sounds like the radiator / tranny fluid problem if the "Milkshake" is pink. I posted pics at the beginning of this thread to show what I was dealing with. From what I've read, you should just get a seperate external tranny cooler, which is pretty cheap actually. (I priced them when I was hoping it was my issue).
Good luck. let us know how it works out.
