Is there any point in starting another build-up thread?
I'm starting an '89 4Runner transformation. Is there any interest in another build-up thread?
This one will be a little different, as I plan to remove the fiberglass top, and add a solid steel top with "barn" doors on the back. It will also have a roof about 12" higher than stock. I may also be extending the rear body several inches to accomodate more equipment. I also will be building almost every piece of equipment, bumpers, skid plates, aux fuel tank, interior racks, etc. The rest will be an entire vehicle overhaul.
This will be a VERY budget build as well.
I have some other plans to share if there's any interest.

Of course you should keep starting new threads! It starts the fun, with no new posts there would be no fun on the forum! -
1 poster to post about a "mod" and to post to the mail list that the mod has been done but can anyone help with a problem it caused
26 posters to reply use the search feature
14 posters to share similar experiences of performing similar mods and how it could have been done differently
7 to caution about the dangers of performing such mods
27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in post
53 to flame the spell checkers
41 to correct spelling in the spelling/grammar flames
15 to write to the list administrator complaining about the discussion and its inappropriateness to this forum
109 to post that this forum is not about that type of mod and to please take this email exchange to another forum
23 to demand that cross posting to other fourms about this type of mod be stopped
41 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all work on our stuff and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this forum
23 to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to this forum, which makes the original post relevant to this forum
306 to debate which method of performing the mod is superior, where to buy the best tools, what brand of parts work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty
27 to post links where one can see examples of different mods
1 member to post the correct answer to the question in the first post
5 members to post "x2"
19 to quote the "Me Too's" to say, "Me Three."
4 to post that the links were posted incorrectly, and to post corrected URLs
13 to concatenate all posts to date, then quote them including all headers and footers, and then add "Me Too."
12 to post to the list that they are unsubscribing because they cannot handle the controversey
4 to suggest that posters request the mod FAQ
The original poster to ask "anyone?" at least 4 times after the correct answer has been posted at least 14 times.
8 to propose new sticky thread
7 to say there is already a sticky to cover this topic
1 to ask if anyone ever did do that mod and how did it work out

Sounds ok to me. I was just thinking it would be cool if everyone did their own vehicle evolution thread in their "check out my ride" section. I tried to provide a history of my truck in my thread. I only wish I had some "before" pictures to compare with the "after" pictures I hope to have soon.
Your project sounds great! Definitely share it with everyone.

Indeed, that would be great project. I've been toying with plans to do something that with my F150, only in fiberglass-over-foam. A real offroad 4wd mini-motorhome - more than an expedition vehicle, less than a regular motorhome. If you were a tad closer I'd lend a hand!
