Hey i need some help with changing out the tailgate handle. mine just broke and i need to change it out fast. Any help is appreciated thanks

 

Mine broke not long ago, I thought the ears had broken off but it was actually the the actuator on the handle itself, my GF had yanked so hard on the handle that it popped out, I was able to take it apart, clean it and epoxy it back into its hole and its holding strong! I would take the tailgate apart and see just what let go, you can get new handles on Ebay or possibly even AutoZone...

 

Thanks, i have a whole new handle assembly coming tomorrow from advance auto but i need to have tailgate down now. is there anyway i can get it open without a handle?

 

take the cover off of the tailgate, and you should see two rods going from the handle to each tailgate pin, if you just pull those together by hand it should release the tailgate.
