Tailgate Cable Sticking

Hey all,
One of the cables in my tailgate (the one that goes to the driver's side latch) is constantly getting stuck so I cannot open my tailgate without risking breaking something
Any thoughts on how I could fix this? I've already sprayed like half a can of WD40 down it and fiddled with it like crazy, it seems to help for like a day, but that's it.
Any ideas?

There's one heading in each direction..
The cable is sticking inside of the black tube it runs though, there's nothing to loosen.

My cable was kinked right where it goes inside the black tube. I bent it back straight and sprayed a mess of wd 40 on it

REmove cable, make sure its straight. Take that can of wd40 and throw it across the room, that stuff is not a good lubricant. Go get something better (I use honey goo).
