T100 Rotors for '86-'95 Trucks/'Runners

I searched the posts first but couldn't find anything relating to this.

They'll fit! Except the calipers/pads won't. The calipers need some milling so the 5 mm thicker T100 rotors will clear. I know this because the parts counter teenager gave me T100 rotors a few weeks ago when I did my front brakes.

(Upon returning the T100 rotors, the teenager lied and said that I said I had a T100, so I had to argue with the "manager" who looked a year older than him for my refund.)

Imagine getting the rotors on, everything cleaned, torqued and sealed only to find the calipers won't fit over the rotors.

Mostly my bad, because I should've noticed these were thicker, heavier rotors in the first place. T100 rotors SHOULD work on '95 and older Pickups and 'Runners (IFS or solid axle) if you clearance the calipers, bend the splash guard if it touches and take a few thousandths off the brake pad lining material so there's no dragging. Or, maybe T100 calpers bolt to the knuckles as well. This could be a good upgrade for running large tires.

thanks for the info xD

i have noticed on occasion that i know more about cars in general than the dude working behind the counter at the auto parts store. But it is made up for by that one genius that works at the store that solves the rest of your problems.

I would think that if you used T100 calipers then it would all be plug and play.

I'm not sure if the T100 calipers bolt to the compact truck knuckles (because the kid ordered me the T100 hardward/spring as well and the clips didn't look familar).

Maybe someone who has a compact and a T100 can tell us.

The T100 is a larger, heavier truck. Therefore, the brakes need to dissipate more heat to stop the T100 -- brake rotors also function as a heat sinks -- the more metal the better.

The compact truck is smaller and lighter but adding large heavy tires adds more mass and leverage -- lots more heat -- so this MAY be a low-buck option for anyone who wants to try and make it work.
