swapping add diff to non add

swapping add diff to non add
Did some research and the info is vague but I know I've seen it before. I have a 4.88 add diff I scored a couple months back and plan to replace my 4.10 with this unit. When you swap in the add unit in place of the non add dont you replace the seal for axle tube with a non add seal? I cannot remember to save my life. Any help with this will be much appreciated.
