I thought there were others out there but had no idea what they came off of. I'm guessing yours has the same part number as mine although I can't remember the numbers right now. Something like 22250-44110?

I'm SURE it's been posted in the other Supra AFM swap threads...

I can`t remember either, but that number sounds right. when i was looking for an AFM to do this upgrade i couldn`t find a celica AFM anywere, but someone here said the AFM from a 5MGE engine was the same, so i was able to find one at pic n pull and it worked. You also have the same type of air filter on yours that i have.

43110 indeed! I only really remembered the 110 part of the number since most of the ones I found were 120 or something like that.

Nice set up with the filter by the way.

Oh and how goes the snorkel?

What's your definition of "allot more power"...? You'll notice a wee bit better MPG. You'll notice that 5th gear is more usable. You'll notice better throttle response. You will NOT gain 30 HP or have the ability to smoke the Saleen Cobra that pulled up next to you at the light...

1/ After I get the ducting sorted I think I will lean things out a few clicks. Although anybody who has to pass emissions- the cat needs fuel to work- too lean- no worky, GM got caught years ago programming their cars for better hwy economy by going very lean- the EPA caught their little trick

2/ these days the 1982 afm part # is getting hard to find- so guys are taking other year supra afm's and a spare stock unit and converting the guts- which I want to do as a spare- anybody have a supra afm that looks like the plug and play- but isn't for sale?

3/ Like I said- conditions here don't lend themselves to power right now- but to date I guess I should be glad it runs just as well as it did before- no gains noticed, the intake is sloppy so once that is cleaned up.....

4/ Guys- if you don't want to be ripped off on LCE throttle bodies- look up polarbeartuning, these guys bore out Honda and Acura TB's and they're all Denso right- I'm trying to get them interested in doing a 22re TB- I even can send them a sample spare. I think they would want around $150 or so, which to my mind is reasonable, he figures they can get 3-4mm out of the bore. email him so he sees some interest. The supra TB is too sloppy (instal/vacume linesl) and too much work to make work.

5/ Although reliable,in my mind this type of AFM is a POS. I'm trying to interest a fella I know into making a AFM- MAF converter which would eliminate the AFM restriction altogether- and by using a GM or Ford MAF there are thousands at the junkyard cheap. Anybody doing turbo, snorkel, etc I think would appreciate the size of the MAF as well. BTW- that's the bonus of my LT1- straight in fit

haha no no man im not expecting 500 hp but the whole 5th gear on the highway would help allot haha you know what its like when you are a 3000rpm and u hit a hill, its like your power just too a crap lol. but if i can get a tad more power and run smoother then im happy :p

oyah does this happen to anyone else, when getting up to speed and your maybe at 1/3 throttle and you put your foot down and it could be gunned and it doesnt make a difference if your at 1/3 or full? its retarded lol

When I had the head off- had the manifold work already done.....wonder what the diff is with LCE's. I'm really interested in the translator though. Can't afford that stuff right now.

This is from MaxBore- I'm going to call him tomorrow. And forget about the converter- same idea as I wanted but won't work for my application- I've emailed the company, but still pretty sure the ecm won't understand that unit. BTW anybody here have a good 1990 TB they want to sell? I need a core. Or if a few of us are interested- perhaps we can pass a loaner TB around? I've got a 1992- looks the same but can't get it to run- idle issues even with a rest TPS.

Hello Dave.

I don't get those Tbs to bore so I don't know exactly how much bigger I can make them. On average, I can bore TBs 3 to 4mm over.
I don't provide cores since I would assume responsibility for it fitting and working in your vehicle. I would recommend that you send in a spare TB that you know works with your engine, that way you have no down time and can revert to stock if you need to.

You may reach me at 321 277 6151.

Thanks
George

i m running a 82 supra afm on a 86 22r turbo.i felt a power boost in lower rpm. plus it spools so much faster.i couldnt plug and play i swaped the inturnals and rich it out about 2 notches clockwise = +4%. each notch is 2%. well i think it would help flow better also more throttle responce with some headers for a n/a motor.
