Stupid 4runner Question of the Day

I have to go pick up a yota front axle, and with 2 kids in the back i cant fold the rear seat down. Will the axle cram in the back with the seats up? I cna get one of those hitch mount cargo carriers but i think the axle may bust it on the drive.

why don't you put a kid in the front and a kid in the back and fold one side down?

Leave the wife at home with the kids. My wife wouldn't want to go. She might help when I got home.

Why do you need to take the whole fam damily? Just go it alone, leave the wife and kids at home, and stop at a nudie bar on the way back!

Don't put that much weight on the trailer hitch sitting that far back. And fold half the seat down if the need be. It works... just not well ;P But yea you should probably explain: "Honey, I need a moment to be a man and go get me some steel, some hard cold steel that I am going to weld onto my truck and make it beautiful like you. Your my first love but my second is definately my truck, and the kids are in there somewhere. So I will be back."

Yeah be careful though. I busted out my back glass loading my axle in the truck. Had an inch or two of glass sticking out of the door and somehow hit it with the axle. It sucks cleaning all that glass up. I still have pieces of glass in the back door.

How is that you were able to let the gate down without the window all the way retracted?

I'm sure you have your reasons for bringing the family if you have thought thsi much about it. These guys are just cheeseheads.

Are both of the kids in child seats? If not, you could be able to fold down one of teh seats, and squeeze the otehr two in the remaining half. There should be a middle belt. That shouldgive enugh room to slide it in lengthways.

If this won't work, don't fret!
Just rol down your rear window, and slide the sucker in sticking out the back window on teh tailgatre. Do it at an angle to it won't slide and have minimal protrusion. It'll only be about what, 18" at most?
The tailgate is strong, it'll be fine. Justbe sure to put a thick cloth between teh gate and axle so it won't sldie or rub the paint off. Probably tying it down would be a safe bet too.

I have no window motor. I do it by hand. When you let the gate down the window comes out a couple of inches.

Yeah its ghetto.
