Strange Starting Issue
I searched and didnt find what I was looking for. Just got below freezing out here in colorado and went to start the truck after it had been sitting for a while, turned the key - lights, power, but nothing from the starter, no cranking sound whatsoever. Nothing. Not even a click.
Tried it a few more times, still nothing. No sound whatsoever.
Waited, tried again, and it started right up perfectly.
Ideas?

First thing that should be done is remove and clean the power connections like the terminals and ground points.
I have seen lots of terminals that "Look pretty clean" but are corroded between the post and inside of the terminal. Also a loose terminal can do the same thing.
Check those items first, they are free and easy.

If everything but changing the starter fails, follow Roger's advice: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...l#OtherOptions
