still overheating after new radiator
well before i put my 2inch bodylift on, my truck overheted some, not on the red or nothin but past halfway. so i put a new radiator in it while i was doin the bodylift now its doin it mroe often. before the BL, i cud flip the heat on high and it would drop. now when i flip the heat it does nothin. i seen a post i think deathcougar posted on another thread like this but mine isnt overhating like the other guys was. i think it was gary9096 or sumn. any iders?

are you sure you burped all the air out of the system? let it run in the driveway for awhile with the rad. cap off, rev it up a little once in awhile, add coolant as needed... it might take 5 minutes, it might take 30 minutes.

yea fan shroud is still intact.... but... i for got to bolt it back up before i started it and i turned it off real quick and it chipped the fan around the edge maybe a quarter inch if that. that wouldnt be the problem would it? and mattaway i did that righ twhen i put it on but jsut for a minute or two. ill trya it again. thanks fellas

Fan clutch, I would check this out. Get the truck to its normal temp and stop the motor and have somebody watch the fan. If it spins more then a revolution or so then its bad.
The fan does all the cooling in the city, it pulls the air across the rad. Stands to reason why it would get cool once you get moving.

well... i drove it to work yesterday... it started overheating really bad. right at the red mark. then my truck kept turning off whiel i was driving it. i bout died goin around a curve when it cut off. but the funny thing is... it ran like a top on the way hoem and didn teven think about overheating

yea im gonna replace the thermostat since its not to expensive. i would assume the fan clutches aint that expensive either. do i have to get it from the stealership?
