Steering Wheel Lock Removal

Steering Wheel Lock Removal
Hello, new guy here.
I have a third generation '97 Tacoma truck xtra cab 4X4.
A little piece of the ignition switch assembly broke and Toyota told me I needed to replace the wheel lock assembly.
So I special ordered the assembly, then went home and gave myself a quick lesson on how to remove the key cylinder and the white plastic ignition switch bolted on the other end of the assembly.
I get the new piece that houses the lock and it is held to the steering column with two bolts. My challenge is that I cannot see any bolt heads to loosen. However I do see the threaded bolt ends protruding through the existing assembly so it is bolted to the column. I swear I'm not the brightest bulb in the class but ... I'm stumped.
There is a stamped steel piece that covers what should be where the bolt heads are. Is there a way to remove that?
Big thanks in advance. ;-)

Yeah...I haven't a clue.
You should try again by starting a new thread in the forum that covers your rig. This one is for 86-95 Trucks & 4Runners.
The one you're looking for is this one 95.5-2004 Tacomas & 96-2002 4Runners.
Good luck!
