91 4runner clutch problems

Hey guys, long time no talk to. So my 91 runner had been having trouble getting into gear. It had all the signs that the clutch was almost gone. I got a new LUK stock clutch to put in it. I pulled the tranny and replaced the clutch, bled the system, test drove it, Everything was perfect for about 5 miles then it wouldn't go into gear anymore. i inspected everything and found that my slave cylinder boot was ripped and the piston was gummed up. found it was real cheap so i just replaced it. still wouldn't go in gear. removed and tested and found the master cylinder was leaking internally, it would create good pressure but it would bleed off quickly. I replaced the master cylinder also. Still wouldnt go in gear. Finally after doing all that I ended up finding that my clutch pedal bracket is split so when i push my pedal down i'm not getting the full stroke out of it.

So heres my question. Does anyone know where to get a clutch bracket? I know the dealer stocks them but they want $200 for one. I have checked the local junk yards and toyotas get stripped so fast that theres none around here. I would love to find a good aftermarket one thats a little stronger. If anyone knows where to find a better then stock one PLEASE let me know.

Deathcougar got me one.

Very common problem is the broken bracket issue.

Try JBM715(might be a space in there, like jbm_715) on here.(he's also on EBAY). His name is Jimmie Bowers .... not the quickest service for some, very quick for others.... Don't wait for a response on here. Rather, call him by the phone number on his ebay site. I'd bet dollars to donuts he's got one.

I was IMMEDIATELY going to say "Slave Cyl"... until I read on, lol. Mine did that and wouldn't come OUT of gear while on Wilshire Blvd and Bundy(VERY BAD PLACE FOR IT TO HAPPEN! haha)... I almost slammed into the car in front of me before I just killed the key and stalled it. VERY FREAKIN SCARY, haha.

Best wishes,

Mark

Hey thank for the advise guys. I'm tearing into it tomorrow, I'm going to get it out and see if maybe i can weld it. It broke in a spot i have lots of room to plate it for added strength. but if that doesn't work I'll have to replace it.

I got lucky i managed to make it to my driveway and thats when it wouldn't go in gear anymore. That must have sucked mark, getting jammed in gear while driving in town. I feel for ya.
