Starting problems
The other day I went to start my 86 4runner and all it did was click. I tried several times. I ended up having to crawl underneath and had to take the little wire off the starter and cross the battery wire to the litle wire treminal on the starter. My first thought was the solenoid on the starter was out. But after thinking it through i am starting to question myself. If I am not mistaken the little wire on the solenoid ont he starter just gives a little juice to the solenoid to trip it and let the contacts tought to start the motor. But if all I did was take the little wire off and cross the teminals directly from the battery than I was still using the solenoid. So maybe it is something else. Any ideas.

x2 the starter contacts where down unevenly so sometimes the thing that spins gets caught on one. pretty easy to fix just find the right contact replacement kit.
