Starting problem ( need help )

I have a 94 4runner 22RE, 5 speed. If my runner sits for any period of time when I go to start it, it starts right up and then shuts right off over and over.then wait a couple of hours and try and it will starts and works fine as long as you don't let it sit for more than a day.sometimes it takes two or three tries.
Just wondering if anyone else ever came across this?

Thanks

I think you need to re-word your question. There are a few contradictions:
"wait a couple of hours... starts... works fine... don't let it sit for more than a day" means that it starts up and works fine if it doesn't sit more than a day.
"sits for any period of time... starts right up... shuts right off over and over" means that if it sits for a minute or an hour or a day it starts then dies regardless.
...
get what I'm saying?
In one sentence you say that if you get it running it's fine as long as it doesn't sit more than a day but if it does sit that long or longer, or less it won't start and gives you fits trying to get it started to the point of where it won't start... but that contradicts things since you can get it started....

Anyhow... change the fuel filter recently?
