Starting issue.. help please!

Truck: 90 4Runner 3.0L 4wd

I drove to work this morning and everything was fine. I get ready to head out for lunch and my truck would not start. It was acting as if the battery was dead so I tried jumping the batter and it still would not do anything. Finally we got it to push start. After being bummed out about this I bought new terminals, a battery and a starter. It was still doing the same thing after all the new parts.

Anyone have any ideas? The only thing I noticed odd about the wires is that the 2nd positive wire(the one going to the fuse box from the battery) it was spliced about half-way through. Anyone know what that wire is actually powering? Could that be a culprit or does anyone have anything else in mind?

sure you have, thought i would check to see if you checked your ignition fuse or under you hood mabye a 7.5 amp charging fuse. I remember a couple years ago my friends 89 chevy 1500 wouldnt start everything else worked. we tryed tapping the starter, took the batt down to napa to test it, that was fine bout a hour later i told him to check fuses. sure enough his ignition fuse was gone. you said you pop started it so it does sound like something in your electrical system. (never fun) just thought i would give you that little idea. hope its that easy

I ran into this a while back as well. Found bad connections at the pos. battery terminal. The wire that runs from the Pos. terminal to the fuse box is prone to corrode, eithor at the battery end or the fuse box. Check both sides of the connection. Hope that helps.
