Starter Problem

i replaced my starter with a new one from reibies over the summer. and at least once a day or so when i turn the truck on the starter does on work. it will make a high pitched spinning/grinding noise. when it does that i turn the car back off and change gears a few times then try again. sometimes it does it multipull time sometimes not.

i pulled the starter off today and it did look like the teeth on the starter were a bit, especialy for only being a few months old.

do any of you guys have an idea what might be wrong?

Is it an auto or manual trans? If its an auto then you probably need a new flexplate, manual a new flywheel. Oh yah...never buy starters from riebies, kragen, ect ect. Either fix your toyota starter or buy reman toyota starters. That other junk will fail on you soon

Also check ALL your engine/frame/battery grounds & clean them well. Need to check the starter relay, too.
