starter issue...do I have to remove the headers?
I am experiencing the infamous 'click' when starting the 'runner...
she starts eventually but it sometimes takes up to 5 tries...
after that initial start she starts fine for the rest of the day, it's just the morning start that hurts.
after looking at the starter location in order to clean the contacts or replace the starter, I see that it seems to be blocked by the headers (thorley)
is there any way to remove the starter without removing the headers, or access the contacts/check wires without removing headers?
this is a 3.0 3vze manual V6
thanks!
possible alternate causes/contributors-
jacobs ignition
powerlock immobilizer

Yes it can be done without removing the headers but it's a PITA!!!!!!!!! I found that if I support the block can then loosen the mounter mount and slightly jack up the engine that I could then squeeze the starter out. It really isn't so much getting the starter out as it is getting her back in. I found this to help immensely. Good Luck!
