SR5 Cluster swap

Hi Guys. I want to do the cluster swap but I am wondering if I buy a cluster that is in MPH's and want to change the odometer to match the KMH's on mine. When I change the odometer to match mine will the odometer still go up in MPH's or will the odometer go up in KMH's? I guess what im asking is is it the truck that reads the distance being travelled or is it the actual gauge cluster. Does any of that make sense? I just want to change the odometer to KMH's and not have the odometer continue to move in MPH's. Thx for the help if anyone can understand what im trying to say. Hehe

If the speedo is primarily in miles per hour, the odometer reads miles.
You'll need to find a speedo that reads primarily in kilometers per hour.

You need a KM cluster. The gauge is what moves the needle. It gets a pulse from the sensor on the transfer case and moves the needle. If you have a KM gauge then the frequency to needle movement is different to the Mile gauge. As far as I know you can not make one into the other easily. This is for electric clusters.
Not sure about the mechanical ones.

I have a mechanical (cable style) cluster here that is in KM that I will sell for $20 +ship.
