ok so before you all say look in other threads... i have and i cannot find my problem in any of them. I have a 93 pickup 22re, when im driving coming to a stop i hear this squeak squeak squeak noise, the only thing i can relate the squeak noise to is like what a belt squeak would sound like, now i know its not the belts because if it was it would squeak all the time but its only when i slow down like in the 10 mph range is when it starts, i jacked up the the front and wiggled around my tires doesn't seem to be a wheel bearing checked my brakes spun them around to see if i could duplicate it nothing worked, so im hoping someones had this problem and give me a next step advice on this. id appreciate any feed back you have. thanks!

 

So while you had the front jacked up did you check brake pads?

 

I'd still check the belts. I live by a stop sign and hear cars approach sounding fine and then stop...motionless so it's not brakes...squeal, squeal....off they go and the sound fine again after the RPMs come up.

A rock stuck in the brake dust shield? Some randon squeak on the suspension? A bad shock?

 

No i did not, i replaced the pads and rotors around this time last year.

 

its only when im coming to a stop, when im at a complete stop the noise is gone, and i did check to see if there was a rock in the dust shield nothing, and i replaced my shocks 2 years ago and none of them are leaking.

 

Wheel bearing since it's when you are rolling?
CV axle?

 

Are you sure it's in the front? Does it happen only when you hit bumps? When I'm driving at low speeds going down my bumpy driveway, I can hear my rear leaf springs squeaking.

Sounds are really difficult to describe and diagnose over the internet. Try posting a video of the squeaking if possible.

 

i check my wheel bearings they are fine and there are no bumps when it makes its noise, i did check the cv axles there are no tear's in the boot just some minor cracking but not extreme cracking to replace.

 

Push up and down on the corners of your front bumper. Sometimes the stud breaks off of the side supports and the bumper squeaks- metal on metal.

 

I noticed you posted another new thread regarding another issue with your rig. My question is did you figure out what the problem was with the squeaking noise? and if so could you post it so other people can benefit from it.

they are worn or corroded ,need to replace.

 

I have a squeak, from rear springs and/or bushings when the truck wiggles or rocks at low speed and stopped, about the only time I notice.

 

how many miles on this truck?

first thing i personally think of when i hear squeaks on a 20yr old vehicle is rubber parts or wear items. this would be leaf bushings, body mount bushings, shock bushings, IFS control arm bushings; then the wear items would be like u-joints, ball joints, brake parts, etc. it could really be almost anything. keep looking and get a recording of the issue if possible

 

try greasing your ujoints and driveshafts, mine does it because when i did my pinion seal i did something not to spec but it doesnt leak so i dont complain.

 

the truck has 210,000 miles on it, and ill do my best but its hard to know where alls i know its coming from the front

 

then try greasing all your fittings on the driveshaft and ujoints as well as thr suspension components. While you're down there, check your bumperettes for rubbing on the body. Spray your shocks with the canned grease and if you want spray other moving parts. Thats everything i can think of that squeaks, keep us posted on your progress.
