No leak in the overflow tank I took it completely off and filled it up and it never leaked. When I fill it up to the appropriate level after driving it is all gone and none of it ever returns.

What do you guys think the chances are that the head may be cracked or warped and this caused the gasket to fail? It has never overheated since I have owned it the guy I bought it from said the truck had sat for 2 yrs before I bought it.

If PO overheated it, there could be head damage.
Have you pulled the spark plugs yet? Condition? Pull the plugs after rig sits overnight and look in each cylinder for coolant or the lack of carbon in one or more from coolant steam cleaning.
Have you done a leak down test? Or a pressure check on the radiator?
