Question Spindle Question

I currently have a 1989 pickup that is four wheel drive. I am slowly making it into a desert prerunner, and need to get rid of that extra wieght in the front from the 4x4 axle. So I was wondering if the 4x4 spindle and the 2x4 spindle were a dead swap? I don't mind having to buy wheel bearing or anything, I juat wanted to know if the ball joint locations, the rod end locations are all the same. Any help would be great.

Get the spindles off an 89-95 4runner 2WD 6 lug. The 2WD Trucks are 5 lugs and I am sure the ball joints are different.
