another question on 33s....

I searched to no avail, so here goes. I got really smokin deals on a set of 16" chevy rims and some 33s for a 16" rim. I bored the rims out to fit over my hubs so they'll fit. The rims have ALOT of backspacing, somewhere around 5" or so, maybe 5.25". My question is, do I say screw it, try to find new rims, run the rims I have with a set of spacers (and how much spacing?) or scrap this whole deal and find some 33 or 35s for 15s. Or will these rims work since the tires are tucked in away from the fender lips...

I run a stock 95 22re longbed pickup (not tacoma)

Not much help but I have 33s on my 15s and love them. Does not have the huge monster truck look, but definately a beefy set of wheels.

Just as important as the backspacing is the rim width. Are they OEM wheels?? Probally too narrow for a 33 or 35, chevys are usually a 16x7....espically on a truck as light as a toyota, youll wear the centers out.. I have 35's on a 8' rim and cant go more than 20 psi or I run only on the center... a 7" rim would be worse..

As far as spacers, i would guess you would need 1.5-2" spacers... what type of lift do you have?

no lift, everything is stock. Im setting it up for a trip to the con in about a month. Im fine with trimming the fenders/firewall to fit, but doubt much will be needed to fit 33s, 35s is another story... I'm not planning on running these for that long. The 35s would be mounted on a set of rims already most likely. What I really want to know is the optimal backspacing required for 33s.

i had to do some decent triming to get my 35's to fit with a 4" bracket lift, so good luck... unless your talking a 35x10.50...

I run 3.75" BS, but thats with a 4" lift..... most guys running 33's and no lift are running 33x10.50

Like I said, Im fine with trimming. Ive heard of a good amount of guys running 33x12.5s, more so than 33x10.5s. I just dont know what backspacing theyre using
