I recently bought a top shift rf1a gear drive transfer case to rebuild and use for the rear of my dual cases. Tore it apart to clean everything and install 4.7 gears, but I noticed the plastic gear for the speedometer was destroyed. Looked worn as if the gear got seized up and the metal gear in the transfer case just ground down the plastic. Has anyone ever replaced one of these, and how is it removed from the transfer case housing? Only thing I can think of is grabbing the threads on the outside with channel locks and pulling, but that would destroy the threads.
