Specs for machining a 3vze flywheel.

I'm getting ready to put the new super 3.0 on the truck this weekend and I had my spare flywheel at the machine shop today. My problem is that there is suposed to be a step in the surface and in order to get the flywheel smooth the step is almost gone.

Do I need to machine the step into the wheel? If so how deep?

Is there a minimum thickness for the flywheel?

My buddy who is an is a machinest at a propeller shop is doing the work for me.
