Speaker ideas for regular cabs???

Wondering if anyone has any ideas for some good sound. I bought some Infinity 4" for the under dash, and I got some 6x9's for behind the seat, but the 6x9's sound muffled from being back there, I guess.

I can't really think of anything else. I wanted to put some in the kick panels but the dang ecu is on the right one and there's no room.

Would putting them in boxes help? Or whatever anybody can think of....

thanks

There is a company called QLogic that makes custom kick panels that will clear the ECU, etc. Website: http://www.qlogic.ws/2003/home/

geez....how deep do the doors go? Doesn't look like there's much room behind the door panels.

Yeah, I've seen the qlogic kickers...might check them out for some more front speakers.

Just trying to figure out something for the 6x9's.

I go with a 2-way component set up front. Get a good brand (I love MB Quart), and mount the 6 1/2 speaker down low in the door and the tweeter close to the window. Quart sell extension rings so that the depth of the speaker will fit in the door. For me, they were a bit of a pain in the butt to install because you have to find a good location for the x-over. I mounted mine inside the door. After it was done though, it was WELL worth it.

Here's another great side for odds & ends, patch cables, speaker adapters, etc.:

i have the same damn problem.... new pioneer 4" up front and matching 6x9"s in seperate boxes behind my seat. The rears sound muffled, or kinda seem to resonate alot. dont know if its the speakers, or it being being the seat causing it. either way i want 4 new speakers cause i am really disappointed with the pioneers.

i also really want a subwoofer! i bought two 6 1/2" subs to put inbetween the 6x9s and they did not play low like a actuall sub at all.

installing seperates crossed my mind. installing a custom made box that will hold a 10"
sub, amp and the two 6x9"s also crossed my mind but those two cost a lot of money i would rather spen on other stuff. so who knows what i will do.

Anything behind a seat is going to sound muffled. Period. Raw bass will do much better than highs. Put your tweeters somewhere pointing towards your face, and your mids in your doors. If you want/need a sub, get a high powered amp and locate it behind your seat in a truck box.

Infinity Reference 6000cs components in the doors and a JL Audio 10w0 behind the passenger seat. MTX 4 channel amp under the driver's seat. Sounds good!

i've got treo 4" speakers in the dash(what a PITA, they hardly fit) and they sound just plain awesome for a 4" speaker. i'd like to get some 6x9s or something behind the seats to add some bass, though.

lots of good ideas. I dont know much about the door speakers but I recomend a bazooka for bass behind the seat. Iv been doing a lot of shopping for my taco and the Bazookas are not the most powerful but they make the best quality sound

I screwed screws (x4) through the spacer and panel to the door plate. The location of the speaker is what is it (quite low) because of the door opening limit rain (or what is it, I donīt know the name ) . I managed to thread wires through the rubber between door and frame, it was painful/difficult (there is 23 wire if I remember right).

Maybe this could help to compose the image of situation:

I have treble speakers on A-pillars also.
